There will be a changing of the guard in one of the top spots at Havas Digital, the interactive network of the international agency group Havas Media. Gabriel Sáenz de Buruaga, co-CEO of Havas Digital, will be stepping down from his role at the company, according to an internal announcement Thursday.
Juan Bascones will be filling Sáenz de Buruaga’s shoes at the request of Sáenz de Buruaga’s counterpart, Anthony Rhind. Bascones is chief media investments officer of Havas Media and a member of the company’s executive board. Prior to joining Havas, Bascones—a medical doctor-cum-banker—worked at Merrill Lynch for 16 years, serving as deputy general manager and head of banking services in Geneva, Switzerland. Bascones will continue in his position at Havas Media in addition to his new responsibilities at Havas Digital.
In 2005, Sáenz de Buruaga assumed the role of Havas country manager for Spain. Before taking the helm, he was COO of Havas Digital, which oversees the Havas Digital media agencies including Media Contacts, Lattitud, iGlue, and Mobext. Upon his departure from Havas, Sáenz de Buruaga plans to open his own agency in Spain. |
