More than five years after joining Hill Holliday, Baba Shetty’s role continues to grow.
Most recently chief media officer, Shetty today became chief strategy officer—a new position that adds brand planning to his list of responsibilities. (As media chief, he led media and digital efforts.)
Shetty, who’s based in the agency’s Boston office, will now oversee 150 staffers in the three disciplines. He retains his media post and continues to report to agency president Karen Kaplan.
“Rather than disconnected islands of insight, we’ve hardwired together all strategic disciplines to bring clients the thinking that drives success in the modern media and business landscape," said Kaplan.
Shetty, 46, joined the Interpublic Group shop in December 2005. The agency's top accounts include Bank of America, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Liberty Mutual.
Before Hill Holliday, Shetty spent 2 ½ years at Fallon in Minneapolis, where he was a managing director in charge of interactive work. Early in his career, he worked as a marketing communications manager at BMW and a research director at Forrest Research.
